Join us for a time with the Olintlalli cooperative. This visit promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will immerse you in one of the country’s ancient practices.

Our adventure begins at 10:00 am sharp with transportation waiting at Gate 12 of Universidad Iberoamericana (Visitor’s entrance Vasco de Quiroga Avenue, Santa Fe). From there, we’ll head to the floating gardens of Xochimilco, where we will arrive promptly at 11:00 am.

We will venture into the ecological reserve canals and explore the fascinating Aztec cultivation system known as Chinampas. These biofilters were created on the surface of Xochimilco’s aquifer and are a remarkable example of ancient environmental engineering. We’ll learn about this innovative farming method that sustained civilizations and contributed to preserving the natural ecosystem. (Check our Summit Video on our homepage)

After visiting Xochimilco, you have two options: head directly to Universidad Iberoamericana or stay at the vibrant Bazar del Sábado in the Plaza San Jacinto of San Angel. This charming area is renowned for its exquisite crafts, art pieces, and unique design items that perfectly embody the spirit of an aristocratic Mexican neighborhood. However, if you decide to explore Bazar del Sábado further, please note that you will need to arrange an Uber ride back to your hotel later.

We understand that sometimes you may want to bring someone not registered for the Summit to this visit. We welcome this and would be happy to accommodate them! However, please keep in mind that there will be a fee of $35.00 US (Cash Only) for each additional person. Our adventure begins at 10:00 am sharp with transportation waiting at Gate 12 of Universidad Iberoamericana (Visitor’s entrance Vasco de Quiroga Avenue, Santa Fe). From there, we’ll head to the floating gardens of Xochimilco, where we will arrive promptly at 11:00 am.

We will venture into the ecological reserve canals and explore the fascinating Aztec cultivation system known as Chinampas. These biofilters were created on the surface of Xochimilco’s aquifer and are a remarkable example of ancient environmental engineering.
